Friendship

Former cranberry community on the intersection of Friendship-Speedwell Rd. and Carranza Rd. that consisted of a number of houses, school, and packing house. When the state took over the land in the 1970's, it is said that the state destroyed the remaining buildings. A large granite marker located in the southern bogs erected by the DeMarco family marks the beginning of the cultivated blueberry industry in the Pine Barrens by James Garfield Alloway.
